1. Service Description

Immigrant Aid Manitoba ("we," "us," "our") is a private document-assistance service that helps clients prepare and submit applications to the Manitoba Vital Statistics Branch for birth certificates, marriage certificates, and death certificates. We are not the Government of Manitoba, the Vital Statistics Branch, or a law firm. We do not provide legal advice.

2. What We Do

When you use our full-service option, we will: collect the information necessary to complete an official Vital Statistics Branch application form; complete the form on your behalf using the information you provide; submit the completed form along with the required government fee to the Vital Statistics Branch as your authorized representative; and communicate with you about the status of your application.

3. What We Do Not Do

We do not guarantee any outcome. Final decisions on whether to issue a certificate are made solely by the Vital Statistics Branch. We do not control processing times. We do not provide legal advice or representation. We do not process name change applications.

4. Authorization

By signing and uploading our authorization letter, you authorize us to act as your representative for the specific application described. This authorization is limited to preparing and submitting the application and related communication with the Vital Statistics Branch.

5. Pricing and Payment

Prices are displayed on our website and include both our service fee and the applicable government fee. Payment is collected at the time of order through Stripe. All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD).

6. Refund Policy

No refunds are provided once your application has been submitted to the Vital Statistics Branch. This is consistent with the VSB's own no-refund policy. If your application is rejected, we will help you understand the reason and attempt to resubmit at no additional charge.

7. Accuracy of Information

You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information. Incorrect or incomplete information may result in your application being delayed or rejected by the Vital Statistics Branch. We are not liable for delays or rejections caused by inaccurate information provided by you.

8. Privacy

We collect only the personal information necessary to process your application. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your data.

9. Limitation of Liability

Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for our service. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. We are not liable for decisions, delays, or actions taken by the Vital Statistics Branch.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The most current version will always be posted on this page.
